Mother’s Day is right around the corner and it is all about celebrating Moms and all they do for their family units. Moms are the modern day super heroes of our society and they don’t receive enough credit for all that they do. Mother’s Day is the one day a year to celebrate mom and thank her for all she does.
Did you know? Mother’s Day as we know it now, started in the United States, by Ann Reeves Jarvis in the early 20th century. Mother’s Day was first celebrated in 1910 in West Virginia. It wasn’t until 1914, though, that Widow Wilson signed the proclamation naming the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day, a national holiday to celebrate Moms across the country.
We believe, as do many others that mothers are priceless and they do for us more than anyone else does. Not only do they give us life, but they play such an important role in getting us through that life and forming us into the adults we are and become.
A good quote to describe Mother’s is “We are born of love; Love is our Mother” or When you look into your Mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.”
Here is a list of things to do with mom for Mother’s Day:
